Samaritan Help Mission Group of Schools Partners with World Martial Artists Council to Launch Free Martial Arts & Karate Training
Kolkata | 15 July 2025 — In a significant move toward student empowerment, representatives from the Samaritan Help Mission Group of Schools (Howrah) met HRH Prince Dr. M.A. Ali, Director of the World Martial Artists Council, at the Council’s Kolkata office today. The meeting marked the beginning of an impactful collaboration aimed at introducing self-defense and martial arts training for students across the Samaritan school network.
The delegation from Samaritan included Mr. Md. Khalid Nawaz, Mr. Mickey Singh, and Mr. Azad Ahmed, who expressed their commitment to fostering physical discipline and mental strength among students through structured karate education.
HRH Prince Dr. M.A. Ali emphasized the importance of martial arts training in today’s time, stating:
“In an age dominated by screens and rising concerns over youth safety, karate is more than just a sport. It teaches discipline, boosts self-confidence, enhances fitness, and most importantly, equips students—especially young girls—with the tools to protect themselves.”
He further added that martial arts education complements classroom learning by building mental focus, emotional control, respect for others, and a sense of leadership and responsibility.
The training will be offered under the Free Karate Program initiated by the World Martial Artists Council in association with the Indian Karate Association, aiming to train over 1,00,000 students annually across India.
The Samaritan Help Mission’s decision to join this movement reflects its progressive vision for holistic student development. The training is expected to begin soon at various branches in Howrah, with certified instructors conducting weekly sessions on school campuses.
This collaboration stands as a shining example of how educational institutions and social organizations can work hand in hand to build a stronger, safer, and more confident generation of youth.
