Singer Lata Mangeshkar Passes Away
Lata Mangeshkar, for whom the description playback singer is something of an understatement, has died in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She was 92. Ms Mangeshkar was taken to the intensive care unit on Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I am anguished beyond words. The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled.”
