Howrah district won the West Bengal State Full Contact Karate Camp and Championship
Kolkata: The 10th West Bengal State Full Contact Karate Camp and Championship was held today at Benjanheria, Budge-budge, South 24 Parganas. In which karate players from different districts of the state participated. Howrah district won championship, while South 24 Parganas district was the runner-up. The winning players in this tournament will take part in the next All India Karate tournament.
Chief guest International Karate Coach and Champion MA Ali awarded the orize to the winners. He announced that next year the West Bengal State Karate Full Contact Camp and Championship would also be organized in Benjanheria. He entrusted this responsibility to Dibas Kumar Acharya.
On this occasion, MA Ali got lost in old memories. He told that he had come to this ground 36 years ago. At that time he used to teach Karate to Dibas Kumar Acharya. Today Dibas Kumar Acharya himself has become a karate master. He said that there is no more precious gift in the world than a Guru. He who has a Guru, he is the richest. MA Ali advised the new generation to stay away from mobile and pay attention to sports.
The ground where the West Bengal State Full Contact Karate Camp and Championship was held has been renamed today. It has been named Gurudakshina Arena.
On this occasion, Kolkata’s teenage Karate player Nabil Ahmed, Karate Master Monimala Haldar, Master Shailen Pal were felicitated. Master Mustar Ali, Master Sikandar Chaudhary were also present there.
