Mamata Banerjee joins Eid prayers at Red Road, appeals for unity

Kolkata: Eid was celebrated with pomp across India today. People hugged each other and congratulated Eid. The biggest Eid prayer in Kolkata is held on Red Road. It rained heavily during the prayers today. Despite the rain, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached the Red Road like every year and wishes the people on Eid. She appeals for unity and slams bjp for policy of divide and rule. While giving hope to the Muslims, Mamata Banerjee said that I will never break your trust.

Along with Mamata Banerjee, her nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee also reached Red Road. He also wishes the people on Eid. Abhishek Banerjee said that some scoundrels are trying to divide the society by spreading hatred. Such people will have to be uprooted and thrown out. Keep the brotherhood.

State Disaster Management Minister Javed Ahmed Khan, MLA Idris Ali were also present along with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
