All India Minority Forum Discusses Manipur Incidents & Karbala at Calcutta Press Club

Next Saturday, July 29th, Muharram (Tenth day) Tazia comes out in various places including Kolkata. On this occasion today, Thursday, July 27th, under the management of All India Minority Forum, the shameful incidents of Manipur and sadful event of Karbala, were discussed at Calcutta Press Club. Imam Maulana Qari Safiq Kashmi of Nakhoda Mosque, Kolkata was the chief guest. Idris Ali, president of the All India Minority Forum and MLA of Bhagbangola Assembly of Murshidabad district, presided over the said meeting. He said, Muharram is not a happy festival, but this month is a sad month, people all over the world fast on the occasion of Muharram, pray, donate to the poor, and many people play sticks without knowing Islam properly, and celebrate with swords. Former MP and current MLA Idris Ali requested Muharram celebrants to observe Muharram according to Islamic customs.

He further said that West Bengal is the soil of communal harmony and with Mamata Banerjee as the chief minister of this state, there will be no disturbance. But the communal party BJP may try to make noise. Earlier we saw the ruckus created by the BJP in several places including Howrah on the occasion of Ram Navami. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a friend of all communities, has severely suppressed it.

MLA Idris Ali appealed to everyone, no one should step into the trap of communal power, observe the event peacefully. In response to a question from reporters, MLA Idris Ali said that the kind of shameful incident that happened in the BJP rule in Manipur a few days ago is a national shame.

On behalf of All India Minority Forum, President MLA Idris Ali demanded the resignation of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and at the same time demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Imam of Nakhoda Masjid Maulana Qari Safiq Kashmi explained the significance of Muharram in detail. He said, stick playing, sword playing, rejoicing during Muharram are anti-Islamic acts. He appealed to all to maintain peace and harmony.

MA Ali, general secretary of the organizing organization gave a full account of the events of Muharram and Manipur. He said, it is the duty of all of us to love people and love the country. Parmananda Maharaj of Belur Math spoke in detail about Hinduism and Ram Navami. He said no religion teaches to hurt other religions.
