Erum Siraj: A fire broke out in a building in the second lane of Kasai Basti of Rajabazar, Kolkata today. This building is near Narkeldanga police station. The fire took a terrible form on sight, but despite receiving the news, no fire engine came for a long time. The people of the area could control the fire with great difficulty. After extinguishing the fire, fire tenders reached there.
The place where the fire broke out is very densely populated. Had the local people not extinguished the fire by playing on their lives, then a big accident could have happened. Due to the negligence of the police, kolkata corporation and fire brigade, any major accident can happen here. A few days back also there was an incident of fire here.
