Government refuses to recognise any institutions of Sports Karate, Traditional Karate, Master MA Ali Welcomes the decision

Kolkata: The Union Sports Ministry has refused to recognize any national level body controlled by Karate Sports.

Let us inform you that four organizations associated with Karate had made a petition in the Kerala High Court. Those organizations had appealed to recognize them as a national level institution in the field of karate in the country. On the directions of the court, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports held a meeting with representatives four organizations of Karate and gave them an opportunity to express their views. The request for recognition was examined in accordance with the guidelines of the National Sports Development Code of India. It has been observed that none of the claimants fulfill the criteria of recognition at present. After which their applications were rejected.

International karate coach and champion MA Ali has welcomed this decision of the Sports Ministry. He told that there are two types of karate. One full contract karate and the other one is non-contract karate. Non-contract karate is recognized as a sport at the Olympics. 30–35 years ago there was only one national body of non-contract karate in the country, which later split into four part.

Welcoming this decision of the government, MA Ali said that these institutions have created loot in the country in the name of karate. These people take money and give grades and belts to children. To play abroad, money is taken in the name of selection. Affiliation is given to district and state level institutions on the basis of money. He said that all the people and organizations associated with the institutions of non-contract karate should be removed from everywhere.

MA Ali said that we teach full contract karate to poor children free of cost. This is real karate. Non-contract karate is just a sport through which self-defense is not possible. People can do self defense only through full contract karate. You can defend yourself from criminals.
