Karate Champion Md Ali Waris to Depart for Umrah Haj Today

Kolkata: Md Ali Waris, accompanied by his parents, grandmother, and sisters, will embark on his journey for Umrah Haj today from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.

Twelve-year-old Md Ali Waris, a black belt in karate, has proudly represented India on three occasions, winning gold medals each time. His remarkable achievements were recognized when he was awarded a black belt by His Majesty King Sany Wijaya Natakusuma of the Padjadaran Kingdom in Indonesia.

A student of Class 6 at St. Augustine’s Day School, Kolkata, Waris was honored by his karate classmates with flowers at Ramlila Park before his departure. The event was graced by Sensai Md Farooque, Sihan S.N. Routh, and several others.

Expressing his thoughts, Md Ali Waris said, “I will pray for all nations and all people, as we are all children of Adam and members of one family.”
