Kolkata: The Gaur Darpan magazine, published from Maldah in West Bengal, has completed 40 years. On this occasion, a programme was organized by magazine at Tripura Hitshadhini Sabhagriha at College Square. Where international karate coach and champion MA Ali was honoured with the prestigious V Balsara Memorial Award.
Litterateurs, writers, intellectuals etc. from all over the state participated in the programme. Who welcomed MA Ali by clapping on receiving the award. They also congratulated MA Ali for this achievement.
Talking to the media on this occasion, international karate coach and champion MA Ali said that till now I have received hundreds of awards in the country and abroad, but I feel more happy when I get the award at home. Let us tell you that earlier the US government has awarded MA Ali with Hero of Gender Equality Award. He also awarded prestigious Upwards Achievement Award from USA. Apart from this, he has also been appointed as the director of the World Meet and International Award Committee to be held in Bangkok every year.
MA Ali said that today industrialists from all over the world are coming to invest in West Bengal. Bengal is developing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. There was a time when the people of Bengal were at the forefront in the field of industry and business in the country, but now the time has changed. Today’s youth are engaged in searching for jobs abroad instead of doing business. I appeal to the youth of Bengal to do business in their own state and play an important role in taking the country and Bengal forward.
MA Ali said that there was a time when great personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Nazrul Islam were born on the land of Bengal. But the thinking of today’s youth has changed. They only dream, whereas to fulfill the dream one has to work hard. I say to the youth who are dreaming Jago Bangla Jago.
