MA Ali condemns BJP for protests against Mamata Banerjee in Varanasi
Kolkata: BJP and Hindu Yuva Vahini showed black flags to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who went to campaign in support of the Samajwadi Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Hindutva supporters protested against Mamata Banerjee at many places in Varanasi. International karate coach and champion MA Ali strongly condemned the incident.
MA Ali said that Mamata Banerjee is a citizen of India. She can go anywhere in India. Can campaign for anyone. This conduct of BJP against her is expressing their frustration.
MA Ali said that Varanasi is a holy place of Hindus. The act done by BJP and Sangh supporters with a woman at this holy place is against the culture of India. BJP should respect a woman.
He said that one thing is being proved by this incident that BJP is nervous. First Mamata Banerjee defeated BJP in Bengal. Now they are afraid of defeat in UP. That’s why BJP tried to target Mamata Banerjee. For which they will have to bear the brunt of the election. MA Ali said today Mamata Banerjee is not only the leader of West Bengal but of the whole country. The people of UP will not tolerate such conduct against her in a holy place like Varanasi and will give an answer to BJP in the elections.
