Royal Celebration Marks First Anniversary of Prince Nicola Adekunle Talluto’s Throne in Idado Ijesa Kingdom

In a grand ceremony on December 16, 2023, the Kingdom of Idado Ijesa celebrated the first anniversary of the throne of His Majesty Michael Keginde Adebowale Taiwo. The highlight of the event was the royal installation of Prince Nicola Adekunle Talluto, who now holds the esteemed title of “AGBAAKIN” – the Revered Elder or The Wise One of Idado Ijesa.

Hailing from the distinguished Royal Family of Jowele, Prince Nicola, a direct descendant of His Royal Highness Nicholas Adekunle Talluto, received the sacred investiture from King Oba Onifiye Michael Kehinde Adebowale Taiwo. This marks his ascent as the Sovereign Prince of Sant’Agata Odo Oko Idado Ijesa, solidifying his position as a direct heir to the ancestral royal lineage.

Traditionally, the AGBAAKIN plays a vital role as the wisest and most intelligent figure in Idado Ijesa, sought after by the community for conflict resolution and problem-solving. With this installation, Prince Nicola Adekunle Talluto assumes the responsibility of carrying forward this esteemed legacy.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of the people of Idado Ijesa and neighboring kingdoms, along with various royal dignitaries. Following the solemn installation, a gala dinner was organized, attended by Royals and dignitaries alike. His Majesty Oba Onifiye Michael Kehinde Adebowale Taiwo generously hosted festivities, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Idado Ijesa.
