Sofia and Kainat honoured with Black Belt
Kolkata: Today at Ramlila Park in Moulali, Sufia Khatoon and Kainat Khatoon were awarded Black Belts in Byagrah Kan Karate International.
Sufia began her karate journey in 2016 after seven years of rigorous training. Today, she was honored with the black belt. She represented India in the 3rd World Karate Championship held last year in Thailand, where she won a Silver Medal.
Kainat Khatoon has won several medals in state and national open karate championships over the past years. She recently appeared for her High School examination under the West Bengal board and is a student at Baitul Mal Girls Higher Secondary School in Narkeldanga.
M.A. Ali, the coach, mentioned that these students practice traditional Full Contact Karate, which is beneficial for self-defense and street fighting. The team regularly participates in World Karate Championships, with 15 members set to leave for Bangkok next month to attend the 2024 World Meet.
Tony Taylor (USA) has congratulated Sufia and Kainat on their achievement today.
