TMC Councilor Faces Bribery Scandal and Land Seizure Allegations in Ward 138

Kolkata: Allegations of grave misconduct have surfaced against the councilor of Kolkata Corporation’s ward no. 138, affiliated with the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The councilor is accused of demanding a hefty one crore rupees bribe from a local businessman, subsequently seizing the businessman’s land for non-compliance. The charge extends to the councilor attempting to dismantle the businessman’s property due to non-payment, despite a court-issued injunction in the businessman’s favor.

Dilwar Tander’s legal representative asserted in a press conference that despite the court’s order and submission of its copy to the Raja Bagan police station, no action has been taken by law enforcement. The lawyer contends that the councilor’s actions are a blatant disregard for the judiciary’s intervention.

The dispute centers around Sufi Kathgola Zameen in Metiabruz, Ward no. 138, with the councilor, Farida Parveen, addressing the matter on her Facebook account. Parveen dismisses the accusations against her, attributing them to a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing her reputation. She claims to have cleaned the disputed pond and asserts that the allegations are unfounded.
