Uproar over occupation of shop in New Market area, request for help from police

Kolkata: The battle to occupy the shop has reached the police. The matter is of New Market area. Near Nizam restaurant in New Market a lady Shamshad Nawajish Khan runs a shop by the name of Khan Biryani. There was a lot of uproar today regarding the possession of this shop. It even reached the point of fighting. Police from New Market police station had to come to control the situation.

Shamshad Nawajish Khan says that she has taken this shop on lease from Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Taj Khan and one of his relatives. She has spent lakhs of rupees on the decoration of the shop. The lease has not yet expired. Despite this, the shop owners are pressurizing them to vacate the shop ahead of time. Shamshad Nawazish Khan alleged that she was attacked several times. She has lodged reported in New Market police station. But have not received any help. Even today many people created ruckus outside his shop. Even the lock of his shop was broken and another lock was installed. This is sheer crime. Now she is feeling the threat of their lives too.

Shamshad Nawazish Khan said that she is ready to leave the shop. But the lakhs of rupees they have spent on its decoration. They want that money back, because no man spends lakhs of rupees just to run a shop for a year. I want justice. I request the police and the court to get me justice.
