Story of two Muslim girls, who trying to grasp the sky: Selection has been done for the Karate World Championship to be held in Thailand, but there is no money to go

Kolkata: The Muslim society of India is generally and economically backward. Because of this their whole life is spent in searching for the solution of their problems. But even in these difficult situations, there are some people who want to brighten the name of themselves and their country by doing some great feat in their life, but the poverty becomes chain of their feet.

Two Muslim girls from Kolkata are facing a similar situation. Those who want to control the sky on the basis of their talent, but the financial constraints of the house are not allowing them to do so.

Erum Seraj is a resident of Raja Bazar area of Kolkata. Iram, a student of Baitul Mal Girls High School, has passed the Madhyamik examination this year. Along with studies, Erum is also fond of karate. She is taking Karate training for the last five years. During this time she has won gold medals in many competitions. Due to her brilliant performance, Erum has been selected in the Indian team going to participate in the Karate World Championship “World Meet 2022” to be held in Bangkok, Thailand next month.

While Erum and her family are very happy with the selection for the Karate World Championship, they are also worried about how Iram will go to Bangkok to participate in the World Championship.

There are seven people in Erum’s family. Parents, two brothers and three sisters. The only earners in the house are his father, who work in making notebooks. A family of seven depends on the income of just one man. Erum’s father is pulling their family’s cart with great difficulty. It is difficult even for him to take their children to Digha. With this much earning, it is almost impossible for him to afford to send his daughter to Bangkok to participate in the World Championships. He had great difficulty even to made his daughter’s passport.

Since full contact karate is not recognized in the Olympics, such events do not receive any government support. As a result, those participating in such competitions have to bear their own expenses.

The news of Erum’s selection in the World Championship has spread all over the Raja Bazaar. This news has reached her school also. Everyone is congratulating Erum, but not a single hand has come forward to help.

Erum is preparing vigorously for the World Championships. She is very sure that she will definitely win the gold medal in the World Championship and will bring laurels to her country, but the question is, how will Iram go to Bangkok?

Similar is the story of Umme Ruman. Umme Ruman, a student of Momin girls High School, has also been selected for the Karate World Championship. Umme Ruman, a resident of Raja Bazar, won the gold medal in the national karate competition held in Kolkata on 26 January this year.

Umme Ruman’s home conditions are also similar to Erum Seraj’s home conditions. There are seven people in her house as well. Father Mohammad Ibrahim sells cloths on the footpath. The house moves with great difficulty.

Umme Ruman also wants to hold the sky in her fist. She has full confidence in her talent and training. She is sure that she will win a gold medal for the country in the World Championships, but she does not know whether she will be able to go to Bangkok to participate in the World Championships, as her father’s income is not enough to support Umme Ruman’s Bangkok trip.

In our society, there is a lot of talk about educating and promoting girls, but when such opportunities arise, then no one comes forward to help.

Umme Ruman and Erum Seraj says that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is doing a lot of work for the development of girls. We also want to illuminate the name of our state and country. We want to win gold medal for our country. In such a situation, we ask Mamata didi, her government and her party to help us to fulfill our dream. We want the name of our Bengal and our country to be illuminated all over the world. We request everyone to help us to fulfill our mission.

Let us tell you that the Karate World Championship “World Meet 2022” will be held in Bangkok on 20 September next month. Organized by the World Mixed Martial Arts Council (UK).
