Indian team will leave today for Bangkok to participate in the Karate World Championship
Kolkata: The Karate World Championship ‘World Meet 2022’ is going to be held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand on 20th September. India’s 20-member Full Contact Karate, Taekwondo and Martial Arts team will leave from Kolkata to Bangkok on September 18 to participate in the event.
The Indian team will go to Bangkok under the leadership of its chief coach MA Ali. Apart from international karate coach and champion MA Ali, the team includes Joydeep Roy, Ayesha Noo, Md Farooque, Monimala Halder, Ravindra Bhauraoji Bhandakkar, Shivkumar Ramlingar, Arif Chempakaseri Paramba, Santosh Kumar, Md Ali waris, Omme Ruman, Erum Seraj, Rajeev Prasad Rajbhar, Sayeed Alam, Debabrata Datta, Shahjaha Noor, Humairah Shami, Kiran Ravindra Bhandakkar, Premchandra Singh Chabungbam and Shina faiyaz. Ayesha Noor will lead the Indian team in the World Championship.
The World Meet 2022 will be organized by the World Mixed Martial Arts Council (UK). The chief guest of the competition will be Nisar Smiler, while Tony Taylor of America has been invited as the guest of honour.
Six girls included in the Indian team are residents of Kolkata. All these girls are from very poor family. Those who have made arrangements to go to Bangkok with great difficulty.
Rajiv Prasad Rajbhar, who is included in the Indian team, hails from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi is the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Varanasi to attend a programme, has extended his best wishes to Rajiv Rajbhar for the World Meet 2022.
A large number of well wishers will reach Kolkata airport on the night of 17th September to wish and greet the Indian team.On 17th September, at 8.30 pm, the Indian team will address to the media at the airport entrance, before taking off for Bangkok.
