Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections concluded peacefully

Kolkata: Kolkata Municipal Corporation election concluded peacefully. Today elections were held for the 144 wards of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. For which tremendous security arrangements were made. Election was completely peaceful except for sporadic incidents of violence in a few areas. Voters freely exercised their vote.

During this, 72 people were arrested by the police for trying to create disturbance. According to the Election Commission, 65.40 percent voting took place till 5 pm. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also cast her vote at Mitra Institution. After casting her vote, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she is very happy to see that people have exercised their vote in a peaceful manner. During the election in ward number 54, the atmosphere of celebration was visible. TMC’s high profile candidate Amiruddin Bobby seemed absolutely confident of his victory. There was no disturbance of any kind in this ward.
