Cancer Survivor Candidates selected and shortlisted for over 150 Jobs at AMP Job Fair at Tata Memorial Centre, Navi Mumbai!

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), in collaboration with St. Jude India ChildCare Centres, successfully organized a special Job Fair at Tata Memorial Centre, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, on Saturday, 26th April 2025.

The event witnessed 272 candidate interviews, out of which 28 Job Offers were given, and 125 positions were shortlisted for various job opportunities. 11 leading corporates and recruiters from across industries participated, offering over 1,300+ vacancies in sectors such as Banking, Hospitality, BPO, Logistics, and other entry-level and experienced roles.

This unique initiative was aimed at empowering cancer survivor youth by helping them secure placements with reputed mainstream corporates, promoting opportunities without any discrimination based on caste, community, or creed.

Speaking at the event, Anil Nair, Executive Director and CEO of St. Jude India ChildCare Centres, said,  “We are grateful to AMP and Tata Memorial Hospital for partnering with us to organize this Job Mela. It is indeed the first of its kind for cancer survivors. Our heartfelt thanks to AMP for their unwavering support. We hope this partnership will grow stronger over the years, enabling thousands of cancer survivors across India to become gainfully employed and financially independent.”

Najeeb ur Rehman, Core Team Member – AMP, who mentored and motivated the candidates before the Job Fair, shared,  “Many of these youngsters had doubts about their employability, given their medical history. Through proper motivation and counseling, we have seen that they can achieve wonders for themselves and their families. Our employability session prior to the Job Fair was aimed precisely at building their confidence and readiness.”

Usha Banerjee, Team Leader at St. Jude’s for Life, added,  “At St. Judes for Life, the vertical supporting cancer survivors, we focus on education, health, counseling, career guidance, and skilling. Helping survivors secure jobs was the logical next step. This first effort, in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre and AMP, has been a great success, and we look forward to many more such initiatives.”

Shahid Haider, Head – AMP Employment Assistance Cell (EAC), said,  “One of AMP Employment Cell’s core objectives is to provide job opportunities to youth and make them self-sufficient. This partnership with St. Jude’s is a landmark initiative, enabling us to extend our employment efforts to cancer survivors as well. So far, AMP has organized 105 Job Fairs and facilitated employment for over 75,000 youth across India.”

The event was powered by the dedicated efforts of St. Jude’s India team, led by Shamika Chavan and the AMP Navi Mumbai Chapter team, including senior members Samir Bubere and Adv. Majid Anwar, along with support from the AMP EAC and Mumbai staff teams for corporate outreach and event organization.
