Kolkata’s Champion Martial Artist Erum Seraj Opens Her Own Makeup Academy

Kolkata: Renowned martial artist Erum Seraj, a five-time Gold Medalist at the World Meet held in Thailand and Indonesia, has now embarked on a new journey by launching her Erum Makeup Academy in the heart of Kolkata.

The Erum Makeup Academy, a unit of the World Martial Artist Council—the principal organisers of the World Meet in Thailand, Indonesia, and the UK—aims to provide professional and globally certified makeup education to aspiring artists.

The academy was formally inaugurated by HRH Prince Dr. M. A. Ali, in the presence of dignitaries including Monimala Halder, Mustaque Khan, Ashfaque Ahmed, and several other esteemed guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Erum Seraj shared that a significant number of students have already enrolled for the upcoming programs, which include a 5-day Master Class starting from 2nd December 2025, a 1-day Self Makeup Workshop, and a 2-month Beginners to Advanced Level Certification Course. She added that the academy offers affordable fees, and upon completion, students will receive internationally recognized certificates.

HRH Prince Dr. M. A. Ali expressed his pride, stating, “Students who learn here will also earn here.”

Tony Taylor, Vice President of the World Meet, New York, USA, conveyed his greetings and best wishes to Erum on the opening of the academy. Obi Stephen, World Meet Representative from Nigeria, also sent his warm wishes. Jagat Bahadur Dhami, Representative of Nepal, expressed his happiness over the remarkable achievement.

Monimala Halder praised the initiative, stating that anyone interested in learning makeup should join this academy, as “this is the best place to learn and grow.”
