Ali Waris, Nazia, Sofia and Kainat Honoured with 2nd Dan Black Belts

Kolkata: Md. Ali Waris, Nazia Ahmed, Sofia Khatoon and Kainat Khatoon have been honoured with 2nd Dan Black Belts in Byagrah Kan Karate International.

The 2nd Dan Black Belt certificates and belts will be formally presented by HRH Prince Dr. M. A. Ali, Chairman of Byagrah Kan Karate International and Director of World Meet Thailand, Indonesia and the UK, on 15 August 2026 at the Headquarters of the Indian Karate Association in Kolkata.

The ceremony will also feature cultural and other programmes to mark the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of India, said Monimala Halder, Treasurer of the Indian Karate Association.

Md. Ali Waris will represent India at the forthcoming World Meet, scheduled to be held at the Royal Rattnakosin Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, on 31 October 2026.

Ali Waris has represented India three times at international competitions and has brought great honour to the country by winning three Gold Medals.

Nazia Ahmed and Kainat Khatoon, both qualified coaches of the Indian Karate Association, are actively involved in promoting karate and providing training to students at several schools across Kolkata.

The achievements of the four karate practitioners reflect their dedication, discipline and commitment to the sport and are expected to inspire the next generation of martial artists in India.
