Sana Ahmed belongs to a reputed political family of West Bengal. Her uncle late Sultan Ahmed was a TMC MP and a minister in Dr Manmohan Singh Govt. Prior to Sana Ahmed, her father Iqbal Ahmed was a councilor of Ward 62 for decades. He was also the Deputy Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and MLA. At present, her aunt Sajda Ahmed is a TMC MP from Uluberia.
