Sikh community honoured the Indian Karate team, gave one lakh rupees cash reward to the winning players
Kolkata: The Indian Karate team, which returned after waving the flag of victory in the World Meet held in Bangkok, is being continuously felicitated. Today the winning Karate players were honoured by the Sikh community of Kolkata. Today is the 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh. On this occasion, tribute was paid to Bhagat Singh on behalf of All India Minority Forum at Mintu Park, Kolkata. Where Forum President and MLA Idris Ali and other sections of the society paid tribute to Bhagat Singh. The coach and players of the Indian Karate team also paid tribute to Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh.
A large number of people of the Sikh community had reached Mintu Park to pay tribute to Bhagat Singh. On this occasion, Sardar Manjit Singh Jitta on behalf of the Sikh community gave one lakh rupees as a reward to the Karate players of Kolkata who came after winning the World Meet. Sardar Manjit Singh Jitta said that with this money, these karate players will take special training, because in the coming days they have to participate in more big competitions. He said that it is a matter of great pride for us that the Indian team has won seven medals including five gold medals in the World Meet. These players still have to go further.
On this occasion, Indian team coach MA Ali said that the Sikh community is always at the forefront of helping people. If there is a need for help anywhere in the world, then the Sikh community reaches there first. It is a matter of great pride for us that the Sikh community has given one lakh rupees to the Karate players of Kolkata. This will help them a lot in participating in the upcoming competitions, as most of the karate players are from very poor families.
On this occasion, Karate players Ayesha Noor, Monimala Haldar etc. said that after winning the gold medal in the World Meet, the expectations of the people have increased a lot. Now we have to participate in the Karate World Championship to be held in June next year. For which we have to start preparing from now. If we are not able to perform well in this competition then it will be a matter of great shame for us, because this time Karate World Championship is going to be held in Kolkata.
