Rocket Ball Makes International Debut at World Meet 2026 in Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand: A new chapter in the journey of Rocket Ball is set to begin as the innovative Indian sport makes its international appearance at the World Meet 2026 in Thailand on 31 October at Royal Rattnskoshin Hotel in Bangkok.

Announcing the inclusion of Rocket Ball in the prestigious global gathering, Tony Taylor, Vice President of World Meet, said, “Rocket Ball is now at World Meet 2026 Thailand.” The championship will provide players an opportunity to showcase this unique sport before an international audience and connect with sporting communities from different countries.

Rocket Ball was created in 2002 by Dr. A. Gopala Krishnan, inspired by his younger brother Mr. Satheesh, who was affected by polio and faced difficulties with mobility. Despite his physical challenges, Satheesh remained confident, determined, and enthusiastic about life.

Wanting to create a sport that his brother could enjoy and participate in even within a limited space, Dr. Gopala Krishnan developed a simple, active, ball-based game. This idea gradually evolved into Rocket Ball, developing its own identity, skills, rules, and competitive spirit.

After Satheesh passed away in 2017, Dr. Gopala Krishnan made it his mission to ensure that the sport created in his brother’s memory would reach people across India and eventually the world.

Today, Rocket Ball aims to become an inclusive and skill-based international sport, creating opportunities for children, young people, athletes, schools, colleges, and communities to participate, compete, and develop together.

The participation of Rocket Ball at the World Meet represents an important step towards that international vision. Organizers hope the event will introduce the sport to athletes and sporting representatives from around the world and encourage its development beyond India.

Dr. A. Gopala Krishnan’s vision is clear: to take Rocket Ball from its humble beginnings in India to the international sporting community and establish it as a globally recognized sport for future generations.
