Erum Seraj World Best Makeup Artist opens her Makeup Academy in Kolkata

Kolkata’s own Erum Seraj, just 20 years old, has opened a new Makeup Academy in the city. A native of the Narkeldanga‑Raja Bazar area, Erum was recently honored as “World Best Makeup Artist” at the 5th World Meet 2024 in Thailand. The award, presented by a Thai Army General in front of dignitaries from more than 50 countries at the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel, Bangkok, included a certificate and recognition of her outstanding contributions to the makeup industry.

Two‑time Hollywood Award winner Tony Taylor (New York, USA) praised her: “We are proud of Erum and her achievements. The day isn’t far when she’ll touch the sky. She’s talented, dedicated, and we’d love to host a camp for our college students in America. We wish her every success.”

Sahid Mahmood from Manchester, UK, added, “She’s smart and even starred as the main artist in my album song. Hundreds of girls will benefit by joining her academy.”

HRH Princess Amb. Mufida Rayya Mubarak of Indonesia congratulated Erum on opening the academy and wished her continued success. Erum is also a 2nd‑Dan Black Belt in full‑contact karate, having represented India five times and won five gold medals, plus numerous accolades in Thailand and Indonesia.

Her mentor and coach, M.A. Ali, said, “The day is not far when she will go global in the makeup industry.”
