Kolkata: The new and grand building of Anjuman Girls High School, an educational institution that played the most important role in spreading the light of education among Muslim girls in Kolkata, was inaugurated today.

The new building of the school was inaugurated by TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay. Rajya Sabha MP Nadimul Haque, State Disaster Management Minister Javed Ahmed Khan, MLA Swarnakamal Saha, Councilor Sana Ahmed and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Anjuman Girls High School was established in 1909. Its operation is in the hands of Anjuman Mufidul Islam Calcutta. This organization was formed in 1905 by some Muslim intellectuals, whose purpose is to develop Muslim society.

The condition of the old building of Anjuman Girls High School had become very bad. So Anjuman Mufidul Islam decided to build a new building. Whose foundation stone was laid in January 2019.

For the construction of the new building, MP Sudip Bandopadhyay has given Rs 50 lakh from his MP Lad fund and MLA Swarnakamal Saha has given Rs 20 lakh from his MLA fund. But this amount was not enough to build such a grand building and for other needs. In such a situation, local councilor and MMIC of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Amiruddin Bobby came forward and took the responsibility of all the other expenses on himself. Amiruddin Bobby’s dream is to take Anjuman Girls High School to a new height. He has left no stone unturned to make his dream come true. He has dedicated the expenditure on the construction of the new building of the school in the name of his father Late Abdul Wahab.
