Another Kohinoor has been added to the crown of international karate coach and champion MA Ali. Today he was honoured with the Vibhutibhushan Mishra Memorial Award from the Kolkata Loksanskriti Parishad. The biggest thing is that he was given this prestigious award at the historical residence of the most popular and great novelist of Bengali language, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Let us inform that ‘Devdas’ has been written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, on which films have been made in many languages so far.
For his tremendous contribution in the field of sports, MA Ali was given this award in the hands of Jaganmoy Mishra, President of Kolkata Loksanskriti Parishad. Many eminent personalities from the world of art, literature and sports were present on this occasion.
Significantly, the life of MA Ali is like a film story. Childhood passed in deprivation. Despite all the difficulties, he kept on learning karate and then won many medals in karate in the country and abroad. He surprised the whole world by winning the title of Karate World Champion.
After retiring from the game as a karate player, MA Ali started his career as a coach. Along with India, he has also coached in Thailand. Today, many children and girls trained in his hands are sitting in high positions. Some are MLAs, some are councillors, some are engineers and some are managing directors of a company.
In view of his contribution in the field of sports, MA Ali has been honored with many awards abroad as well. The US government has honoured him with the Hero of Gender Equality Award. In America itself, he has been given the Upwords Achievers Award. Apart from this, he is also a life representative of the World Mixed Martial Arts Council (UK) and has also been appointed director of the World Meet.
