IndiaZakat.com launches its annual Helpline for all Zakat Queries

IndiaZakat.com is India’s 1st Zakat-based crowdfunding platform, an initiative of Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), launched just before Ramzan in April 2020. It brings together a Zakat donor and a seeker on the same platform and through the utilisation of Zakat for Education Support, Livelihood Assistance, Medical Assistance, Disaster Relief etc., aims to transform a Zakat seeker into Zakat giver.

Zakat is an obligatory form of almsgiving in Islam and holds profound significance. It represents a pillar of the faith, emphasizing the importance of social welfare and the redistribution of wealth to those in need, fostering a sense of community and compassion among Muslims.

In the month of Ramzan, many Muslims are likely to donate their Zakat. Since many are first-time donors of Zakat, they may have queries on various aspects of it. Understanding their needs, IndiaZakat.com has launched its annual Zakat Helpline once again.

The panel of Islamic Scholars available on IVR include Allama Arshad Ali Jeelani, AlIkhlas Foundation (Ahmedabad), Maulana Muhammad Mustafa Madni, Darul Quran Shaheen (Lucknow),Mufti Izaan Iqbal Naeeimi, Darul Uloom Faizan E Mustafa (Baramula), Mufti Abdul Basit Qasmi, Madarsa Arabiya Quraniya (Itawa), Mufti Hasan Shabbir Kachba, Darul Uloom Godhra (Godhra), Mufti Rafeeq Ahmed Kolari Hudawi, Shamsul Ulama Aarbic College Thodar (Dakshin Kannada), Dr Mufti Muhammed Ali Nadwi, Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema (Lucknow), Mufti Muhammad Irfan Alam Mazahiri, Darul Uloom Hamidia (Kolkatta) and Maulana Qazi Khateeb Alam Misbahi, Darul Uloom Warsia (Lucknow).

Allama Arshad Ali Jeelani from Al-Ikhlas Foundation, Ahmedabad, who is also on the Advisory Council of IndiaZakat.com said “IndiaZakat.com has been a revolutionary step in the Collection and Disbursements of Zakat. Through IndiaZakat, a donor can have the choice of selecting the location of the seeker as well as the type of cause he/she wants to donate to. The annual Zakat Helpline is a great service from IndiaZakat.com as it immensely helps those with queries on Zakat through the learned Scholars of Islam.”

Iftikhar Bidkar, Project Head – IndiaZakat, said “In the Zakat survey that was conducted by AMP, we found that a majority of the Community was not very clear of the concept of Zakat. Secondly, they kept giving Zakat to the same family or individuals without bothering to check whether their Zakat was making an impact in their lives. We thus introduced this helpline in 2022 and thousands of people benefitted by calling the Ulema panel on Zakat.”

This ZAKAT HELPLINE is a FREE service for the Community to get all their doubts cleared on Zakat from Learned Scholars of Islam.

One can call on 022-50-333-666 between 2 PM to 4 PM India time, any day during this month of Ramzan, and get their queries answered on Zakat.
